Team Feature: Meet Constance Burroughs!

Constance Burroughs – Talking Hearts Student Coordinator

Hello, my name is Constance, and I am a student at U of M-Dearborn majoring in Journalism and Screen Studies. In my free time, I love listening to music and playing The Sims 4.

Tell us about how you got involved in the “Talking Hearts” project.

Two of my professors recommended me, and it seemed like a cool project, so I joined.

How has your experience working in this project been so far? What are your key takeaways?

So far, it’s been fun coming up with ideas and planning events for the project. I guess a takeaway would be that a lot can be accomplished when everyone works together.

What do “Heart Maps” mean to you?

Well, in this context, I think a heart map reflects how your heart looks during this pandemic — a visual representation of your feelings and experiences.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I am a huge fan of the old Hollywood actor James Dean. Last year, I visited his hometown Indiana and got to see all of the places dedicated to him.

Constance’s constant cat Salem!

One thing you can’t live without?

Music.

Favorite color, song, book and movie?

At the moment, my favorite colors are blue and green. My favorite song currently is Nutshell by Alice In Chains. My favorite movie of all time is Titanic.

If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be?

Jennie Kim from Blackpink.
